Hoyt Farm Town Park 200 New Highway, Commack

By now, the kids are begging for snow! Did you know that we have one of the best places to go sledding or tubing on Long Island? Hoyt Farm is open 365 days a year. The smaller, wide hill when you park is perfect for the little ones, while if you look straight back, dad can take the more daring ones down the massive hills! Tubing at Hoyt Farm is something you don't want to miss! (BONUS! Towards the end of the year, the preserve offers maple sugaring workshops, which the public can participate in the ages-old process and make their own delicious syrup!)

Smithtown PAC is known for putting on high quality, family-friendly shows and this season is no exception! 

Elf Jr. is playing now through December 31st and ALL TICKETS ARE $15! Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.

Ice Skating/Shopping at Bryant Park

If you do want to make a trip into the city, the Long Island Rail Road only charges $1 fares for children 6-12. Children under 5 are free! Head on up to Bryant Park near Times Square and ice skate for FREE! That's right, only of the only places in New York where you can skate at no cost! Send the kids out onto the ice and spend time with your sweetie browsing their Winter Village featuring many artisan food stands or unique and absolutely delightful shopping sections.

The East Northport Christmas House 16 Mansfield Lane South

Take the kiddos in their pajamas and go check out The East Northport Christmas House! Lights, lights, lights! Frosty, beloved holiday figurines, penguins, and Santa might even make an appearance! Every day from 5:30-6:30 pm kids can pick up candy canes and coloring books for free. And this wonderful family raises money to benefit the children at Cohen Children's Medical Center.
